The Ryzen 7 5700X is equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads, along with a total cache of 36MB, with 32MB dedicated to L3 cache. Its base clock speed is 3.4GHz, which is 400MHz lower than the 5800X, while its maximum boost clock speed is 4.6GHz, 100MHz lower than the 5800X.
The TDP of the 5700X is 65W, in contrast to the 105W of the 5800X. This difference is expected to significantly impact the operating speeds of both chips under Precision Boost 2. Given that neither chip includes a boxed cooler, it is recommended to use a high-quality AIO or air heatsink for optimal performance.
The Ryzen 7 5800X is priced at approximately £290-310 in the UK, with a predominant price point of £310. On the other hand, the new 5700X is available for around £270. Intel's significant rival, the Core i5-12600K, is also priced at £270 and boasts six Performance cores and 4 Efficient cores, totaling sixteen threads.
