Ryzen 7 8700G.
AMD has unveiled the Ryzen 7 8700G, a desktop CPU with 8 cores, priced at. This chip is part of the Ryzen 7 series, based on the Zen 4 (Phoenix) architecture and compatible with Socket AM5. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT), it can handle 16 threads simultaneously. The Ryzen 7 8700G boasts 16 MB of L3 cache and runs at a base clock speed of 4.2 GHz, with the potential to reach 5.1 GHz under heavy workloads. Manufactured using a 4 nm process and containing 25,000 million transistors, the silicon die of the Ryzen 7 8700G is produced at TSMC's foundry. The unlocked multiplier allows for easy overclocking, enabling users to adjust the frequency to their liking. With a thermal design power (TDP) of 65 W, the Ryzen 7 8700G has typical power consumption levels for a modern CPU. It supports DDR5 memory through a dual-channel interface, with an officially supported memory speed of 5200 MT/s. Overclocking with compatible memory modules can further increase this speed. ECC memory support is also included, crucial for systems that require data integrity. The Ryzen 7 8700G utilizes a PCI-Express Gen 4 connection for communication with other components and features Radeon 780M integrated graphics, eliminating the need for a separate GPU. In addition to the processor, the package includes a Wraith Spire cooler for effective cooling.
